Celtic express interest in signing Yorke
The Premier League club are looking to take the former Manchester United man to Glasgow for the remainder of his contract with Rovers. But the Hoops dismissed suggestions that the 32-year-old had already agreed a three-year deal.
Yorke has fallen out of favour at Ewood Park where manager Graeme Souness appears to favour a forward line of Scotland international Paul Dickov and Jon Stead.
The Trinidad and Tobago international was part of the Old Trafford squad which won an unprecedented treble in 1999, with Premiership, FA Cup and European Cup winners’ medals in his collection.
Yorke cost the Red Devils £12.6m when he joined the club. But he left the club just over two years ago in a £2m deal to link up with fellow ex-United striker Andy Cole. He will now link up with Juninho and Henri Camara if he completes the deal.
