THE positive legacy emerging from the failed attempt of Scotland/Ireland to secure the Euro 2008 finals was a commitment to extend co-operation into the future across a wide range of activities.

The most immediate areas of co-operation are focused on developing structures to improve youths football in both countries and in developing a joint web-site that will be used to support the vast army of volunteer people in football.

The officers of the Scottish and Irish associations will meet on January 10 to review the background to their bid and to discuss future strategy on issues they consider common to both.
