Rangers keep pressure on Celtic with win over Dons
The Croatian netted his 20th and 21st goals of an impressive campaign to fire his side to victory over
Aberdeen at rain-soaked Pittodrie and left Rangers manager Alex McLeish hoping for more twists and turns in the tussle with Celtic to allow his side to emerge with the trophy.
The win at Aberdeen, courtesy of Prso’s double after Barry Ferguson’s opener, cut Celtic’s lead to two points. “The players at this club were already motivated, as they should be, but certainly there was a wee edge after Celtic’s defeat on Saturday to Hibs.
“This leaves us two points behind with three games to go. I said last week when we lost to Celtic that we can only do our best to win the four games and apply as much pressure as possible.”
Prso deservedly picked up the man-of-the-match award for his performance, with his goals coming after Chris Clark had fired the Dons level after half an hour.
And Prso pledged his future to the club afterwards: “I will stay until the end of the season, next season and I don’t know how many after that,” Prso said. “If the club are happy with me then I’m happy here.”
