Feisty Fulham deserve draw

Tottenham Hotspur 1

A Ledley King own-goal gave Fulham the lead on 14 minutes before visiting keeper Maik Taylor was sent off for bringing down Simon Davies for a penalty, which Teddy Sheringham converted six minutes before the break.

With 18 minutes left, Spurs' Darren Anderton saw red after two yellow cards in four minutes.

Martin Herrera went on in the 38th minute after Taylor, who made two brilliant saves minutes earlier, was sent off for pulling down Tottenham's

Simon Davies.

Fulham took the lead thanks to a brilliant solo run by Marlet, who laid the ball off perfectly for Luis Boa Morte.

The Portuguese striker's effort was going wide but took a deflection off Ledley King and went beyond Keller and into the Spurs net.

And yet Fulham's fortunes swung again when Marlet had to hobble off with knee trouble and second substitute Louis Saha came into the action with less than 20 minutes gone.

In the 27th minute the home side were convinced they should have had a penalty when Sheringham went down, seemingly from a push by Knight.

The official infuriated them again soon afterwards when after Boa Morte pulled down Carr from behind.

Barber chose to lecture the Fulham player rather than let Spurs take a quick free-kick.

Shots by Anderton and Goran Bunjevcevic flew harmlessly over the bar.

Then Taylor made two amazing saves in two minutes.

First he flew to tip over Anderton's powerful half volley from 20 yards and then stretched to palm King's header against the underside of the bar.

Fulham somehow scrambled the loose ball away before Spurs made their first substitution, sending on Milenko Acimovic for Poyet on 35 minutes.

And three minutes later Fulham's luck ran out when Simon Davies, sent clear by Anderton, rounded Taylor and was hauled down by the keeper.

Taylor was shown the red card before Sheringham hit the penalty past substitute keeper Martin Herrera.

Spurs seemed sure to take the lead in the 63rd minute when Carr again swept down the right but Acimovic totally unmarked just six yards out but the midfielder's scuffed shot bounced off the ground, on to the bar and over for a goal-kick.

Anderton clipped the heels of Saha to earn his second yellow card in four minutes, and a red one, which left both sides with 10 for the remaining 18 minutes.

Even Spurs fans jeered him as the former England player trudged off.

Wome fired the free-kick wildly over but, on 75 minutes, Saha sent a thundering effort from 20 yards bouncing off the Spurs crossbar with Keller beaten.

Fulham claimed in vain for a late penalty when Boa Morte's shot hit the arm of Dean Richards.
