Leeds unveil plan to raise £10m

NEW Leeds chairman Gerald Krasner is hoping to raise an immediate £10m after the club yesterday announced a cut-price season-ticket plan.

The deal is not unique as Bradford under former chairman Geoffrey Richmond, who has been acting as an advisor to the new Elland Road regime piloted a similar scheme almost four years ago.

On that occasion, 25-year season-tickets were put up for sale at £2,250, with the club virtually selling out of the 1,000 allocation and so raising more than £2m.

Leeds' 20-year scheme is limited to 2,000 supporters, with the first-come first-served fans paying for 10 season tickets and receiving 10 free.

New commercial and marketing director David Richmond said: "It could raise an awful lot of money, plus for our loyal fans it is a way to help the club move forward."
