Robert could leave Magpies

LAURENT ROBERT has again insisted he can no longer work with Newcastle manager Graeme Souness - and is urging the club to let him leave on a free transfer this summer.

Although he has a year remaining on his contract, the controversial Frenchman, who has had a publicly fractious relationship with Souness, has seemingly played his last game for the club.

The winger, who turns 30 on Saturday, appeared to bid a fond farewell to Magpies fans by stripping down to his underwear and throwing his kit into the crowd following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea, which he watched from the bench.
