Bradford stand by Windass after biting claims

BRADFORD are standing by Dean Windass as the Football Association investigate two biting allegations.

Bradford stand by Windass after biting claims

Southend goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan accused the Bantams striker of biting him during their 2-0 win at Valley Parade in August.

However, he decided against reporting the incident to the FA.

But Bournemouth's Marcus Browning has since claimed he too was bitten by Windass in their recent win against Colin Todd's side, and Flahavan is now considering changing his mind.

Windass, 36, denies the allegations.

Bradford club secretary, Jon Pollard, said: "The match officials in both games saw nothing and videos were sent to the FA following complaints from players.

"Dean maintains his innocence, and having seen the inside of his cut lip after the alleged Bournemouth incident, it looks more like somebody has forced his arm in his mouth rather than Dean having bitten the player."

Windass has scored eight goals in eight matches this season and was subject to a failed bid from Premiership side Wigan.
