Solskjaer plays down long term injury claims

MANCHESTER UNITED striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down reports he could be sidelined for a further three months.

The Norwegian international, who had a knee operation back in September, claims “everything is okay.”

However, following a setback in training earlier this month, Solskjaer was advised by manager Alex Ferguson to take a week’s break.

Solskjaer told his club’s website, www.ManUtd.com: “I trained with the first team last week and had planned to play against Birmingham for the reserves.

“But Sir Alex advised me to recharge my batteries and take a week’s holiday.”

Solskjaer made his comments after his personal manager Jim Solbakken had been reported in Norwegian newspaper VG as saying the injury could take a further three months to heal.
