Gary Neville: United have to reclaim league title.

ā€œThis is the biggest test we have had as players for a long time,ā€ Neville said. ā€œIt is the first time as a squad we have gone two seasons without winning the championship. That is unacceptable for Manchester United and we have to respond in the right way.

ā€œWe need to hit the ground running because we had such a poor start to last season and the experience of the last two seasons shows us we cannot afford to give leads away.

ā€œAlso, we dropped so many points to teams in the lower reaches of the table and we cannot allow that to happen again.

ā€œSome people say our fans have been spoilt by what has happened over the last 10 years, I don’t think that is right,ā€ he said.

ā€œThat is what should happen at Manchester United. What happened in the previous 26 years was a disgrace.

ā€œWe have to win trophies. We won the FA Cup in 2004 but we know what it is all about, European Cups and league championships are the main thing.

ā€œLet’s face it, last season couldn’t have been much worse for us. Arsenal win the FA Cup, Chelsea win the Premiership and the Carling Cup and Liverpool win the Champions League. It doesn’t get much worse for us than that.ā€
