Gunners rule out Barca move for Henry

ARSENAL vice-chairman David Dein has told Barcelona to forget about trying to sign Thierry Henry.

There is speculation that striker Samuel Eto’o could leave the Spanish champions after reports of a fall-out with coach Frank Rijkaard.

Rijkaard has admitted his interest in Henry, who joined Arsenal for £10.5 million from Juventus in 1999 and scored 25 Premiership goals last season.

But Dein said: “Thierry Henry’s our player and will remain so.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said he is keen to keep the bulk of his squad together.

He told the club’s website: “I have not planned to buy too many and to be busy would mean we were under tremendous stress to sell players, which we don’t want to do.”

Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rosell and director Josep Maria Bartomeu have resigned from their posts at the club just two days after Jordi Mones, who was responsible for Barca’s medical services, decided to quit.

Their decisions came following disagreements with president Joan Laporta over his running of the club.
