NEWCASTLE boss Bobby Robson will not allow Rooney-mania to derail his side’s bid for Premiership glory.

The Magpies head for Goodison Park tomorrowto lock horns with Wayne Rooney and his team-mates four days after the 17-year-old made a massive impact in his first start for England in the 2-0 Euro 2004 win over Turkey.

Everton boss David Moyes is likely to start with Rooney on the substitutes' bench and to unleash him on Newcastle at some stage of the game.
