Souness and Rovers hit rock bottom
Goals from Marcus Bent and Steve Howey saw Leicester leapfrog above Rovers, via a 2-0 win at the Walkers Stadium. Souness was so upset that he declined to attend the post-match press conference, as Blackburn slumped to a fifth successive league reversal.
Parkes said: "Graeme has not given out the riot act. He is very, very disappointed. He takes it personal. He is gutted.
"He can't bring himself to face the media tonight which is quite unusual. He is so disappointed. I don't think he has got his act together to come and speak to the media.
"It's the lowest Graeme has been since he's been manager here. He's never had a run like this. He's had three years of success, and this run has come as a bit of a shock, to be where we are at the moment.
Parkes played down speculation that Turkish international Tugay had travelled to Leicester on his own after an alleged bust-up with Souness.
He said: "Tugay was left out of the team, he has travelled with us. People are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill."
Parkes admitted: "We could have won it. We dominated for long periods, had a lot of possession, created a lot of chances. We are disappointed not to score, and conceded two goals from set plays.
"There are a lot of gutted people in our dressing room tonight, and we've just got to lift them for the next game, and have a bit of Lady Luck."
Foxes manager Micky Adams was delighted with the response of his players after the 4-3 reversal at Wolves.
He said: "I'm certainly pleased with a clean sheet. We've not had too many of them. We had a bit of luck today. Blackburn were the better team for the whole team I got no arguments with that.
"But I was pleased with the application of the players. They were nervous. I think everyone could see that. At half-time I said to them 'I've been there many times myself where perhaps you don't take the responsibility you should on the ball, and you pass the buck'."
