Vogts defiant as Scottish fans greet final whistle with boos
The 20,433 fans at Hampden Park greeted the final whistle with a chorus of boos as Romania beat Scotland 2-1. Goals from Cristian Chivu and Daniel Pancu sealed it for Romania and not even a great solo goal from substitute James McFadden could lift the gloom.
There was more bad news when defender John Kennedy was taken to hospital with suspected ligament damage. The Celtic youngster was carried off in the first half to give Martin O'Neill serious concerns ahead of next week's UEFA Cup quarter-final against Villarreal.
