WEST BROM’S hopes of landing Anderlecht star Aruna Dindane appear to have hit a brick wall created by the Belgian club’s stubborn refusal to sell.

Albion chairman Jeremy Peace was prepared to shatter his club’s transfer record as it is understood an offer of £5m was made for the Ivory Coast star, a close friend of new Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

Tottenham and Lyon are also understood to be interested in the Belgian player of the year, who scored twice in Anderlecht’s 3-0 win over Benfica on Tuesday to fire his side into the lucrative group stages of the Champions League.
