Robson right man for the job, says Mick

BRYAN ROBSON is well equipped for the Republic of Ireland manager’s job according to former Ireland boss Mick McCarthy.

The Yorkshireman resigned his post last month after Ireland began the Euro 2004 qualifying campaign with defeats away to Russia and at home to Switzerland.

He also came under pressure because of the unresolved dispute between him and star player Roy Keane since the latter was sent home from the World Cup training camp after complaining about the facilities.
