Portsmouth face FA probe

PORTSMOUTH are facing a Football Association investigation over their new midfield player Amdy Faye.

Portsmouth face FA probe

The FA has written to the club asking for their observations over why the Senegal midfielder played under an assumed name of Henry in a pre-season friendly against Kilmarnock.

The FA only found out about the possible offence by Portsmouth which is against their regulations for matches watched by paying customers when manager Harry Redknapp talked openly about the subject to the media. It has been claimed that Redknapp fielded Faye under a different name so as to deflect interest from rival clubs who also wanted to sign him.
