Ferguson looks to the future

ALEX FERGUSON has spelt out his vision of the future for Manchester United.

On the day Roy Keane sensationally cut his ties with the Old Trafford outfit, United confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo had signed an extension to his contract which will keep him with the Red Devils until 2010.

The deal had verbally been agreed with the 20-year-old prior to departure for United’s pre-season training camp in Portugal, but a series of delays, believed to be due to Ronaldo’s image rights, put the formal announcement on hold.
