Casillas claims United are interested
The 23-year-old Spain international is the number-one choice at the Bernabeu but has been tipped to solve United's keeper problems.
Current stopper Tim Howard has struggled for form while Roy Carroll is expected to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Casillas said: "For a long time Manchester United have been interested in me. An offer has been put to my agent but, for me, money is not everything in life.
"There are a lot of questions to be answered before I could leave Madrid but I like the Premiership and United is one of the few clubs that I would go to if I were to leave Spain.
"That is because of its history, tradition, supporters and the way they treat their players.
"I've spoken with (United boss) Sir Alex Ferguson several times after matches and I know he likes me."
Meanwhile Spain coach Luis Aragones has revealed he has appealed against the punishment he received for controversial comments about Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.
The Spanish Football Association fined him £2,080, clearing Aragones of racism but saying the 66-year-old should have acted in a more responsible manner.
The country's Anti-Violence Committee have appealed to have the fine increased, and Aragones, feeling he is the victim of a witch-hunt, has appealed to have the punishment lifted. "It's not the fact I have been punished, but the fact that they look to do more than that. I won't allow them to continue against me.
