Hat-trick hero Raul brings club haul to 158

SPANISH international striker Raul, already his country’s top scorer in history with 34 goals, reached another landmark in Saturday’s 7-2 win over Real Valladolid in which he had a hat-trick.

The goals enabled the 26-year-old to take his league club haul to 158, leapfrogging Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas, who netted 156, as he became the fourth highest scorer in Real Madrid’s history.

The victory, though, wasn’t enough to claim pole position in the Primera Liga as Deportivo La Coruna won 2-1 at Seville to keep their 100% record intact.
