Souness denies Rangers ‘leak’ accusations

NEWCASTLE manager Graeme Souness has accused Rangers of leaking details of his offers for defender Jean-Alain Boumsong.

Ibrox director of football business Martin Bain claimed on Wednesday the Glasgow club were “disappointed” the Magpies had made their interest in the player public.

But former Rangers boss Souness is adamant he had nothing to do with the information becoming public knowledge.

And Souness insists his declared interest in the 25-year-old was not designed to undermine the Light Blues’ UEFA Cup progress.

Rangers crashed out of Europe on Wednesday after a 2-0 home defeat by Auxerre.
