FAI accused of jumping the gun after Kerr sacking

THE FAI have been accused of acting too hastily in getting rid of Brian Kerr due to the lack of viable successors for the post of Republic of Ireland manager.

A three-man sub-committee within the FAI of chief executive John Delaney, president David Blood and secretary Michael Cody, have started their search for a replacement for Kerr.

The 52-year-old was informed on Tuesday night his contract would not be renewed, along with that of his backroom team in Chris Hughton, Pat Bonner and Noel O'Reilly, bringing to an end his 33-month reign.
