Souness asks fans’ patience for Luque

NEWCASTLE boss Graeme Souness has asked fans to give £9.5million signing Albert Luque a chance as he relaunches his career on Tyneside.

The 27-year-old Spanish forward managed less than two games before tearing a hamstring which has sidelined him for the last nine fixtures.

But he will return to the squad for Sunday’s trip to Everton. While Souness is hoping for big things from the man he fought so hard to recruit from Deportivo la Coruna during the summer, he is asking the Magpies’ success-starved supporters to be patient.
