Keith Andrews feels 'unbelievable calm' around Brentford team

Chelsea crumbled defensively once Brentford took the lead in the 61st minute and the home side were outstanding in the way they put their rivals to the sword.

“I think it’s important that you enjoy these nights,” said Andrews. “There’s some tough days in the game, as you all know. You’ve got to endure lots of different emotions.

“I felt there was something bubbling tonight. I have this unbelievable calm around our team because I trust them. I see a humility and hunger in the group.”

Poor marking at a Mikkel Damsgaard corner just past the hour allowed Anthony to head in unmarked from virtually on the goal-line, then Kevin Schade ran clear and, after he was denied by Emiliano Martinez, Igor Thiago knocked in his first league goal of the season.

Substitute Carvalho made it three in stoppage time from Schade’s cross.

“The club and the fans and the players are so invested in the journey,” said Andrews. “I love what we’re doing and the way we're going about it. We should enjoy it.”
