Bath have confirmed the appointment of former Munster attack coach Mike Prendergast ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.
Prendergast, who left Munster at the end of last season, will take over as Bath’s new backs and attack coach, beginning his new role at Farleigh House for the commencement of the new season.
“I am really looking forward to joining a prestigious club like Bath and excited about getting stuck in,” Prendergast told their official website.
Beginning his rugby career as a player at the Irish province, Prendergast has gone on to play for French side CS Bourgoin-Jallieu and spent time in the PREM with Gloucester Rugby before returning to his roots at Munster.
Prendergast has a wealth of coaching experience, shaping his leadership career in the French Rugby system after spending over a decade coaching at Grenoble FCG, Oyonnax Rugby, Stade Français and Racing 92.
From Paris, Prendergast returned to Munster, where he has spent the past four years as their attack coach.
The Limerick man helped Graham Rowntree's Munster clinch an unlikely URC title win in 2022/23 before the province reached the URC semi-finals after a top-of-the-table finish in the regular season the year after.
When Rowntree departed the top role, Prendergast was ultimately overlooked for the position in favour of present head coach, Clayton McMillan.
