Lansdowne delivered one of the most polished displays of the round, powering past Nenagh Ormond 45-19 at New Ormond Park. A dominant first half laid the platform, Tom Roche’s double and Stephen Madigan’s accuracy ensuring the visitors were firmly in control long before the closing stages.
Old Belvedere edged a tight encounter 19-15 against Young Munster, Calum Dowling’s try after the hour proving decisive in a contest that never strayed far from the margins.
Terenure College produced an emphatic response in their first outing since Carlos Spencer’s departure, running in eight tries in a 52-22 win over Ballynahinch, with Eddie Kelly grabbing two and Chris Cosgrave adding a try and six conversions.
Clontarf returned to winning ways with a 48-28 success away to UCD, Dylan Donnellan’s hat-trick headlining a clinical performance. At Temple Hill, St Mary’s College underlined their title credentials with a 57-19 victory over Cork Constitution, running in nine tries, including two from Ruairi Shields, while Mick O’Gara both crossed and kicked four conversions.
In the Women’s Division, Leah Tarpey’s hat-trick inspired Railway Union to a 41-5 win over Tullow. Wicklow produced a standout result, defeating Old Belvedere 27-15 after a strong second half. Blackrock College stretched their winning run to 14 with a 62-12 victory over Ballincollig, Galwegians beat Cooke 44-17, and holders UL Bohemian closed the weekend with a 47-19 win over Ennis, Clara Barrett’s hat-trick sealing their 15th success of the campaign.
In Division 1B, Old Wesley’s lead at the summit was cut to three points, Garryowen overturning a half-time deficit to win 24-19, tries from Daniel O’Connell and Fionn Rowsome swinging the contest. Dublin University chased their Dublin neighbours after ending Instonian’s 33-game home unbeaten run with a 29-12 victory.
Naas boosted their survival hopes with a 46-28 win over Queen’s University, while Blackrock College moved further from danger by beating City of Armagh 27-12. Highfield’s late score secured a valuable 21-15 derby win over UCC to keep them fourth.
MU Barnhall moved to the brink of the Division 2A title with a 14th straight win, 28-14 at Banbridge. Dungannon produced one of the comebacks of the weekend, overturning a 26-7 deficit to beat Cashel 33-31. Corinthians outscored Old Crescent 38-27, Greystones defeated Wanderers 36-26, and Ballymena’s 16-10 win over Shannon tightened the play-off race.
In Division 2B, Galwegians extended their winning streak to 14 with a 19-0 victory over Sligo. UL Bohemian edged Clogher Valley 35-28, Malone won 52-31 at Skerries, Navan beat Buccaneers 38-10, and Enniscorthy saw off Rainey 34-24.
Division 2C delivered high drama as Ballyclare staged a remarkable comeback from 36-0 down to beat Bective Rangers 45-42. Clonmel stayed top with a 35-11 win over Monkstown, Dolphin kept their challenge alive by beating Bruff 22-3, Thomond edged Belfast Harlequins 15-12, and Midleton’s 24-15 victory at Malahide moved them clear of the drop zone.
