Jerry Flannery and Felix Jones have a new year project on their hands after the Irish duo were temporarily added to the coaching staff of the struggling Bulls.Â
The URC and Cahmpions Cup outfit haven't fared well this term after the off-season departure of Jake White as director of rugby. After making it to last season's URC Final against Leinster, the Bulls have won just three times this season.Â
Flannery and Jones are fixtures of the Rassie Erasmus brains trust with the Springboks but have now been seconded to the Bulls for some "short-term" assistance.Â
"Springbok assistant coaches Felix Jones and Jerry Flannery, SA Rugby Mobi-Unit coach Duane Vermeulen, and Head of Athletic Performance Andy Edwards will provide short-term support to the Vodacom Bulls following a request from the franchise for assistance in specific technical areas," SA Rugby said.
"The request was approved by SA Rugby and the Springbok management as part of the organisation’s ongoing collaboration with its member unions.
"The Bok coaches will engage with the Bulls on a limited basis, both remotely and in person where required, in line with SA Rugby’s standard practice of sharing national coaching resources when requested."
