THE announcement that Graham Rowntree had left Munster by mutual consent was one of the more unusual moments in sports where off-field events deliver more drama than those on-field. 

My phone, like most fans, was hopping with notifications and messages of genuine shock. Apart from those in the very inner circle, I do not think anyone saw this departure coming.
