Munster head coach Graham Rowntree has rewarded centre Bryan Fitzgerald with a new three-month contract.Â
Fitzgerald joined the province at the start of the season for an initial three-month trial, but has now been handed another chance to impress, having performed admirably in both the URC fixture against Zebre - in which he socred his first try in red - and the Virgin Media Park win over Ospreys.Â
The Garryown man, however, did not travel with Munster to South Africa last week. Thus, he returned to club Garryown, taking up his co-captaincy role for their AIL meeting with St Mary’s College, which the Limerick men lost 25-22.Â
The Munster call-up came on the back of the 25-year-old producing a number of excellent displays last season for Garryowen including scoring tries in the Munster Senior Challenge Cup final and in the Division 1B playoff final as his club were promoted to Division 1A.
The Limerick native, who played his schools rugby with Crescent College Comprehensive and has two caps for Ireland Clubs, produced a standout performance for the AIL Select XV side who took on Munster A back in May, scoring two tries.
