JUST as well there isn’t another game left for Ireland in this oscillating Six Nations campaign. Right now it looks as if, after close on six months together in camp for the World Cup and for this tournament, there isn’t much left in the tank.

Fitting then to end proceedings on a high, perhaps if not in terms of performance but certainly in terms of achievement. Winning back-to-back Six Nations championships is a superb accomplishment, offering further embellishment to an unprecedented period of success that has seen Ireland win five championships in 11 years.
