Siya Kolisi still part of Springboks plans but Rassie Erasmus may opt for new captain

South Africa captain Siya Kolisi, now based in Paris.

SPRINGBOK head coach Rassie Erasmus says Paris-based World Cup-winning captain Siya Kolisi will be considered for South Africa this year, though not necessarily as captain.

Erasmus has returned to the head coaching role from his director of rugby position as the back-to-back world champions turn attention towards an unprecedented hat-trick in 2027 in Australia. Erasmus hinted Tuesday that some of the 'old guard' will be phased out over the next few seasons.
