Another Munster injury blow as Jean Kleyn ruled out for season

Munster have suffered a fresh injury blow with news that Jean Kleyn has been ruled out for the rest of the season, having undergone knee surgery.
The South African World Cup winner had already been out since November with an eye injury suffered in the URC defeat by Leinster. But with the problem slow to heal, Munster confirm the lock has opted to undergo surgery on an ongoing knee issue and will not return to play this season.
The Munster squad are continuing preparations for Saturday’s Investec Champions Cup clash against RC Toulon at Stade Felix Mayol (3.15pm Irish time).
The province also fear Jack O'Donoghue may neer surgery on his knee injury picked up against Connacht. A decision will be made following a surgical consultation this week.
As for the rest of Munster's lengthy injury list, decisions will be made later in the week about the availability for France of Oli Jager, Fineen Wycherley, Alex Nankivell, Niall Scannell, Peter O’Mahony, Joey Carbery and Patrick Campbell.
Jager is continuing the return to play protocols after his injury against Connacht. Fineen Wycherley and Peter O’Mahony (shoulder) are increasing training exposure this week. Alex Nankivell (ankle), Niall Scannell (groin), Joey Carbery (wrist) and Patrick Campbell (shoulder) have just returned to training.
There is a positive update for Eoghan Clarke as he has completed the return to play protocols and is available for the weekend. While Mike Haley (hip) and Cian Hurley (ankle/achilles) will return to training in the coming weeks.
