Vikki Wall is explaining why she paused a nascent Aussie Rules career. The two-time All-Ireland winner is making the point that her switch to rugby sevens was about more than just the chance to make the Paris Olympics when the sheer pace of change this last year catches up.

“I don't just have one outcome goal of making the squad in 2024,” she said at the IRFU’s high-performance centre in west Dublin. “There's so much more I want to achieve within sevens football... Or, sevens rugby!”
