Stephen Fitzgerald admits retirement has left him 'heartbroken'

"The last two years have been extremely tough with three operations on my knee and unfortunately this is a battle that I’m going to lose."

Connacht's Stephen Fitzgerald said he is "devastated and heartbroken" after being forced to retire from rugby.

Despite three operations, Fitzgerald has failed to recover from a knee injury sustained against Leinster in January 2020.
