Academy trio in Ulster squad for top-of-the-table clash

Ulster head coach Mark Anscombe has called academy players Alan O’Connor, James Simpson and Conor Joyce into his provisional squad ahead of Friday’s first versus second RaboDirect PRO12 game against Glasgow at Scotstoun Stadium (7.35pm).

Also included are front row duo Ricky Lutton and Andrew Warwick. Lutton, who has made three appearances to date for the province, plays predominantly at prop but can cover hooker also.

21-year-old Ballymena prop Warwick could be in line to make his senior debut for the province if included in the match day 23.

27-year old-winger Neil Walsh, a late replacement in that game, may get another opportunity this Friday against the Scottish outfit.

Ulster remain top of the PRO12 table following last week’s 26-3 win over Zebre at home. They have a seven point advantage over second place Glasgow Warriors going into round 16 matches.
