Afoa banned for Heineken Cup semi-final‎

The ERC Disciplinary Committee have handed prop John Afoa a four-week ban after a hearing this morning.

He was originally cited for an alleged dangerous tackle on Munster's Felix Jones during Ulster's quarter-final win.

He will now miss Ulster's Heineken Cup semi-final with Edinburgh on April 28.

Ulster Rugby expressed its disappointed with the outcome.

"John Afoa himself is very disappointed, particularly in view of his outstanding disciplinary record where he has never previously received a yellow or red card during his professional career," said a statement on the province's website.

"John looks forward to returning to play after May 7."
