The Irish rugby squad has returned home after their World Cup exploits.

Declan Kidney's squad landed at Dublin, Shannon, Cork and Belfast airports this evening after returning home from New Zealand.

Kidney told reporters that there had been no talk of retirements among the squad.

Speaking on his arrival in Cork, Ronan O'Gara confirmed that he would never "turn his back" on his country.

O'Gara said: "I remember coming back here four years ago and the feeling was completely different. The run-out we got in Musgrave Park when we played for our local team was something we'll never forget.

"I think Irish people are really loyal people, the team are hurting. It has been disappointing but there has been some great highlights along the way and you don't forget them either."
