Edwards disciplined over 'internal matter'

Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards was tonight believed to have been disciplined over an incident which allegedly took place after last Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations victory over Ireland.

Edwards did not travel to Paris with the Wales squad for this evening’s final match of the championship against France.

Refusing to confirm the precise nature of the incident, head coach Warren Gatland said: “This is an internal matter, full stop.”

A Welsh Rugby Union source confirmed to Press Association Sport that Wasps head coach Edwards would be back with the Wales fold ahead of their next game against the Barbarians in Cardiff on June 4.
