All Blacks complete Grand Slam with win over Wales
Wales 25 New Zealand 37
A brave second-half effort from Wales was not enough to deny New Zealand their third Grand Slam of the Home Unions in six seasons at the Millennium Stadium.
The home side, who remain without a win against their opponents since 1953, were eventually seen off by five tries to one as Hosea Gear (2), Mils Muliaina, Isaia Toeava and John Afoa romped over, with fly-half Dan Carter booting 12 points as he became the top points scorer in the history of Test rugby.
Fly-half Stephen Jones kicked six penalties and converted Lee Byrne’s late try for Wales, but they will reflect on a chance missed having trailed just 23-18 entering the final 10 minutes.
