Connacht stay at Sportsground for semi

Connacht have resisted the temptation to move their Challenge Cup semi-final to a bigger venue in favour of the intimacy of The Sportsground for their clash with Toulon.

It will mark the opening match of European club rugby's prestigious semi-finals weekend when the teams meet in the first of the Amlin Challenge Cup semi-finals in Galway Sportsground on Friday, April 30.

Connacht CEO Gerry Kelly said: "The Sportsground was always our preferred option for the semi-final.

"Not only does it give us every opportunity on the pitch (Connacht haven't lost at home since last September) but it gives us a chance to reward our fans and sponsors alike and we look forward to working closely with local businesses, Galway City Council and Fáilte Ireland to make this a truly memorable event."
