Irish ladies get off to a flyer in Six Nations
Ireland 19 Italy 0
The Irish ladies rugby side got off to a good start in their Six Nations campaign by defeating Italy by 19-0 this afternoon at St Mary's RFC in Dublin.
The first half was played almost entirely in the Italian's 22 with Ireland dominating the play showing good handling and kill. Only Italy's formidable defending stopped Ireland from going over for a try in the first half.
After the break, with 47minutes showing on the clock, Ireland's no 2 Jess Limbert crashed overt he line with the help of the pack to score the first try of the game.
Ireland stayed on the attack, with 55 minutes on the clock, Irish lock Germaine Healy scored from a pass back across the posts to land Ireland's second try in the corner which was converted by Jo O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan set up Ireland's final try of the game on the 60-minute mark with a fine looping pass tour no 7 Sinead Ryan who dived under posts and converted by Grace Davitt.
This brought an end to the Italians hope of a victory although they never looked like beating a more focused Irish Team.
