Gomez Cora called into Pumas squad
Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda has called Pablo Gomez Cora into his squad to face Barbarians on March 3 in Biarritz.
The Stade Francais player, who made his debut against New Zealand in 2004, replaces the injured Ignacio Corleto.
“I am very happy. It is very important to be part of the squad before the beginning of the World Cup,” the winger said.
Gomez Cora, who will have to fight for a place in the starting XV with Lucas Borges, Hernan Senillosa and Horacio Agulla, admitted he will have his work cut out to get a place in Loffreda’s line-up.
He said: “We will have a difficult game against Barbarians. The Pumas are lucky to have great strength in depth. Argentina have a lot of top players in every position, which makes life difficult for the coach, but is very good for the national team.”
