Injury worries mount for Italy

Italy coach Pierre Berbizier has several injury concerns ahead of the RBS 6 Nations clash against Scotland at the weekend.

The Azzurri have lost their opening two matches in the 2007 Six Nations, 39-3 at home to France and 20-7 to England at Twickenham, but team manager Marco Bollesan spoke on Tuesday of going to Murrayfield in confident mood.

However, a trio of injury doubts will have dampened the enthusiasm in the Italy camp.

Centre Gonzalo Canale, fly-half Roland De Marigny and flanker Alessandro Zanni missed training on today due to a variety of ailments while another flanker, Josh Sole, has already been ruled out because of an elbow injury.

Stade Francais star Mauro Bergamasco is another whose participation against the Scots is in doubt after he missed a training match against the Under-21 side on Tuesday.
