Cork Constitution 39 Lansdowne 25

Cork Constitution scored two tries in extra-time to overcome a battling Lansdowne side in the AIB Cup's preliminary round.

Con got their title defence off to a winning start at Temple Hill as they edged this eight-try thriller.

The Dubliners led 8-7 at the interval thanks to a try from Shane Whelan and a Robbie Dolan penalty. But Con rallied and a try from Cronan Healy saw the sides tied at 25-25 at full-time.

There were no further scores until the second half of extra-time when super fit Con saw Peter McKee and Frank Cogan over for their clinching tries.
