Three players have been withdrawn from Argentina’s squad ahead of their autumn Tests after they suffered injuries in the same domestic fixture in France.

Perignon’s Rimas Alvarez joined Stade Francais duo Rodrigo Roncero and Lucas Borges in the treatment room following the Top 14 clash between the two teams on Saturday.

Alvarez left the field with a crushed thyroid cartilage in his throat, Roncerosustained two broken ribs while Borges also picked up a rib injury.

“I cannot move properly,” Borges told La Nacion newspaper. “I cannot do anything. I’m also finding it very difficult to walk.”

They join Agen forward Lucas Ostiglia, who recently underwent shoulder surgery, on the sidelines, providing Pumas coach Marcelo Loffreda with a selection headache.

Leeds Tykes’ Martin Schusterman, SIC’s Federico Serra, Alumni’s Jaime Arocena and CASI’s Pablo Gambarini have all been called up for Saturday’s clash with England at Twickenham.

Argentina then face Tests against Italy, on November 18, and France, on November 25.
