Horgan joins Ireland tour

Munster winger Anthony Horgan will join Ireland’s tour to New Zealand and Australia following John Kelly’s withdrawal through injury.

Kelly arrived at Ireland’s pre-tour training camp in Limerick on Sunday but misses the trip Down Under with the shoulder strain he sustained while on Munster duty.

Horgan won the last of his seven caps in November’s thrashing by New Zealand, a performance that resulted in the 29-year-old being dropped.

His form plummeted as a result and it has only been in the business end of Munster’s Heineken Cup-winning season that he has begun to rediscover his confidence.

Ireland depart for New Zealand tomorrow and face two Tests against the All Blacks before completing their trip with a clash with Australia on June 24.
