Dublin University picked up their first win in four league games as they got the better of a disappointing Dungannon side, winning 25-12 at College Park.

Tries from back rows Martin Garvey and Philip Rowe, prop Paul Doran Jones and winger Ronan Doherty saw the students win for only the second time in 2006. It was "a timely one" in the words of Trinity captain Matt Crockett.

All Dungannon could respond with were four penalties - three in the second half - from the boot of fly half Gareth Steenson, who was named in the Ireland Club team earlier this week.

Doherty's try, in the closing minutes, chalked up a third bonus point of the campaign for the 15th-placed students, who have a game in hand on Galwegians. The westerners have a seven-point gap currently.

Scorers: Dublin Uni: Tries: Martin Garvey, Ronan Doherty, Paul Doran Jones, Philip Rowe; Con: Mark O’Neill; Pen: O’Neill
