France flanker Olivier Magne has revealed he could join London Irish next season.

The 32-year-old Frenchman announced earlier this year he will leave Clermont Auvergne in the summer following a dispute with club managers.

Magne returned to competition last month after a four-and-a-half-month absence due to a foot injury and may now be tempted to prolong his career abroad.

“Things will become clearer over my future in the not too distant future,” he told his official website.

“At the moment I’m leaning towards going to England.

“I have received a very decent offer from the London Irish. Their offer attracts me both because of their sporting ambition and because of the guarantees they are giving me.

“But I am going to take my time to make my decision and leave the door open for potential offers in France, even if the ones I have received so far are far from concrete.”
