England duo nominated for award

England internationals Martin Corry and Mark Cueto have both been nominated for a prestigious end-of-season award.

The PRA players’ player of the year award, to be presented in London next month, will go to either Corry, Cueto, Leicester fly-half Andy Goode, Worcester skipper Pat Sanderson or Sale Sharks back-row forward Sebastien Chabal.

The Professional Rugby Players’ Association young player category, meanwhile, sees five of English rugby’s brightest prospects contesting top honours – Leeds centre Chris Bell, Newcastle’s Mathew Tait, Leicester back Ollie Smith and his Tigers team-mate Harry Ellis, plus Bath prop Matt Stevens.

The winners will be announced at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on May 11.
