Garryowen continued their march towards a possible AIB League play-off come April, as Gerry Hurley and Alan Purcell booted them to a 12-8 home win over bottom side Lansdowne.

Garryowen continued their march towards a possible AIB League play-off come April, as Gerry Hurley and Alan Purcell booted them to a 12-8 home win over bottom side Lansdowne.

The halfback duo bagged a penalty brace apiece as, despite shipping a 45th minute try to Lansdowne hooker Mark Nathan, Paul Cunningham's claimed the sixth win at Dooradoyle.

Nathan struck directly after the restart, being pushed over following a good spell of pressure from the visitors, to answer two first half penalties from Hurley.

A subsequent yellow card to back row Stephen Rooney cost Lansdowne cost them dearly as all the Dubliners could muster in reply to Purcell's two kicks was a 35-metre effort from leading scorer Andy Tallon.
