Dublin Uni's full-back gives them win
Dublin University 20 Buccaneers 12
Dublin University full-back Simon Mitchell was the star of the show at College Park as he kicked five penalties and scored the game's only try in a 20-12 victory over Buccs.
The visitors, following their 18-12 overturning of Cork Con last Saturday night, were brought back down to earth as Trinity earned their first ever top flight points.
Indeed Mitchell's efforts have them up to third in the table after a bruising encounter.
Justin Meagher kept Buccs in touch at 14-6 down at the break, with two of his four penalties.
From a needlessly given away mark, Buccs conceded an early try to Mitchell as the former Irish Universities back kicked and chased his own chip through to touch down just before the end line.
With Buccs hooker Gareth Halligan and Trinity lock Martin Garvey seeing yellow for separate incidents, penalties were the name of the game and Mitchell and Meagher shared two apiece in the second half as Tony Smeeth's side ran out winners.
